Find out about our Itinerary
This adventure starts 8 AM when your local tour guide picks you up from your hotel, traveling to Drumheller in the Canadian Badlands. Here, you’ll find one of the world’s most complete dinosaur museums, the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology, which houses over 160,000 catalogued fossils.
At the museum, you will be transported to the distant past, surrounded by enormous fossils of ancient creatures, experiencing the thrilling world of dinosaurs. The Tyrrell Museum cleverly organizes its collections by the time periods in which these creatures lived, offering an immersive journey through the ages.
Did you know you can visit the mouth of Tyra, the world’s largest T-Rex, which stands an impressive 45 meters tall?
Beyond the museum, the city of Drumheller also features various dinosaur statues scattered throughout, so don’t get distracted as you explore this fascinating town.
For lunch, enjoy a meal at the legendary Last Chance Saloon, located in the ghost town of Wayne. This area, once bustling with over 160 coal mines, offers a rich history to explore.
Afterward, you’ll visit the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site and the suspension bridge once used to transport coal, providing a glimpse into the region’s industrial past.
To conclude your adventure, take a walk or climb the Badlands and marvel at the incredible Hoodoos, towering rock formations created over millions of years. If you’re lucky, you might even stumble upon fossils hidden in the rugged landscape.
This thrilling experience will not only give you a deeper understanding of prehistoric life but also immerse you in the rich history and natural wonders of the Canadian Badlands.
